Abstract

This project aims to present, as a proof of concept, a web platform designed to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare services through the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions, with a specific focus on assessing the impact of the socioeconomic and environmental context on health and its inequalities in Spain. The overall objective is to provide indicators that allow for the analysis, in different territorial areas, of how social and environmental factors influence population health and equity in access to healthcare services.

The specific objectives constitute the distinguishing characteristics of our platform: ii) To consider not only indicators of social determinants but also environmental determinants (meteorological variables, air pollution, and the sanitary quality of drinking and wastewater); ii) To use various territorial levels for analysis (census tract, municipality, basic health areas, province, and
Autonomous Community); iii) To allow the user to model the association between social and environmental determinants and various health outcomes, as well as the use of healthcare services. (iv) Combine historical and real-time data; (v) Prospectively provide an early warning system showing absolute, relative, and attributable risks of health outcomes.

The platform is based on the integration of emerging technologies, ensuring information security and interoperability between healthcare systems. Furthermore, training for healthcare professionals in the use of these tools will be promoted, ensuring an effective transition to a more equitable, data-driven care model.
